"welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy your stay and that you will visit again soon!"

I work with hand made felt , dyed silk fibres, fabrics and hand and machine embroidery to create colourful pieces which include pictures, hats , bags and other accessories. My work is an expression of my love of nature and frequently draws inspiration from the landscape , birds and flowers.

Following a degree in textiles/ embroidery at Loughborough College of Art and Design, I spent several years teaching art at secondary level. For the past few years I have returned to pursuing my own creative expression more fully and have studied felt making. This has been both inspiring and releasing in coming to grips with the process. I have discovered that gradually building up a piece layer upon layer, and combining various fibres rather like a collage,is a way of working that I really enjoy. I currently combine part time art teaching with my own creative work and undertake commissions and various exhibitions as well as training opportunities to extend my felt making skills alongside other textile artists. I have taken part in these recent exhibitions:

24th Jan-23rd Feb 2007 "Colour Full" an exhibition at Salisbury Arts Centre with The Textile Forum South West.

March-April 2007 The Art Care Open Exhibition at Salisbury District Hospital.

August 2007 Hampshire Artists Open Studios.

17th July-7th Sept 2008 The Art Of Water Open Exhibition at Southampton City Art Gallery

August 2008 Spice Art Studios ,Bitterne, Southampton
